Gaétan Chevalier, PhD

Researcher & Director Earthing Institute

About

Gaétan Chevalier is a visiting scholar at UC Irvine and director of the Earthing Institute. He has been the lead or co-author on many of the most important grounding studies, including research on cortisol, HRV, blood viscosity, and sleep.

Chevalier's research has provided much of the objective physiological data supporting grounding's effects. His studies showing HRV improvements and cortisol normalization during grounding are among the most cited evidence for grounding's autonomic nervous system effects.

As director of the Earthing Institute, Chevalier has conflicts of interest that should be noted, though his research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and replicated by independent researchers.
