Jari Laukkanen is a cardiologist and researcher at the University of Eastern Finland. He has led the most influential studies on sauna bathing and health outcomes, including the landmark 20-year Finnish sauna study.
His research demonstrated that frequent sauna use (4-7 times per week) is associated with 40% lower all-cause mortality and 65% lower dementia risk compared to once-weekly use.
